wildlife. Roe deer, wild boars or herons could be round the corner, and each photo is unique. Games of light and colours reflected on the water always change the landscape, so much that someone believes it is because of a fairy that lives in the lakes.

At the foot of the Olympic Susa Valley, Avigliana Lakes and hills date back to the glacial period, more than 700.000 years ago. Once there were four lakes, today there are only two: the Lago Grande (the biggest lake) and the Lago Piccolo (the smaller lake). A third lake became the peat bog area near the town of Trana, and a fourth is now a swampy land called “Paludi dei Mareschi”.
